First Choice is a free site for UK students building a university application. It gathers the competitions, summer schools and work experience worth applying for, and gives you a fair way to track your revision.
A single place to find what strengthens an application and to keep yourself working towards it. We don't sell courses or tutoring, and we aren't part of UCAS or any university. Every listing links straight to the organiser's own page.
First Choice is made by students going through the same applications you are. We built the site we wanted for ourselves: one place for the opportunities nobody tells you about, and a way to keep each other revising.
Every part of the site is free: the listings, the revision timer, the leaderboard, groups and your stats. There is no paid tier, there are no adverts, and we never sell your data.
One list you can filter by age and subject, with real deadlines, instead of dozens of separate websites.
Free programmes and schemes for under-represented students sit alongside the famous competitions, so nobody misses out for lack of a tip-off.
Hours only count while a timer is running, so the leaderboard rewards work that actually happened.
Your grades and individual sessions are visible only to you. We never sell or share anything.
Each button opens that opportunity's own page on the organiser's site. Dates marked confirmed were read from that page on the scan date. Dates marked expected are based on last year's cycle because new ones aren't published yet. Always check the organiser's page before relying on a deadline.
Connecting to your log…
Time only counts while the timer runs. You can't type in minutes or log a past session. One timer at a time, sessions under a minute aren't saved, and a session stops counting at 3 hours.
Nobody has timed any revision yet. Start the timer and you'll be top of the table.
Ranked by timed revision. The week runs Monday to Sunday. Shared rankings aren't connected yet, so for now this table shows only your own sessions on this device. The table updates as people start and stop their timers, and shows who is revising right now.
Make a group, share its code with friends, then switch "Show" above to see just that group.
Download a copy of everything this site holds about you.
Only moderators see this. Deleting an account removes its sign-in, profile, grades and sessions for good.

First Choice lists extra-curricular opportunities for UK students and lets registered users time their revision and compare totals on a leaderboard. It is built and run by students, and it is free to use. It is not affiliated with UCAS, any university, or any organiser listed.
You must be 13 or over. If you are under 18, tell a parent, carer or teacher that you use the site.
Listings are gathered from organisers' public pages and can be wrong or out of date. Dates marked "expected" are estimates. Always confirm eligibility, cost and deadlines on the organiser's own page before you rely on them. Links lead to third-party sites that the site owner doesn't control.
The site is provided as it is, free of charge. Nothing here is admissions advice or a promise of a university offer, and the site may change or close at any time. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under UK law.
If these terms change, the date above changes and you'll be asked to agree again before you next use the timer.

Your email address is never shown to other users. Don't put anything private in your display name or course.
Only to sign you in, run the timer, show your stats and build the leaderboard. Your email is used for sign-in and password resets, not marketing. Nothing is sold, used for advertising or shared with universities or organisers.
Accounts and revision data are held in a Supabase database, and the pages are served by Vercel; both act on the site owner's behalf and, like any web host, see your IP address when you use the site. There are no advertising or analytics trackers on this page. Fonts load from Google Fonts.
Until you delete your account or the site closes. Deleting your account on the Account tab removes your sign-in details, profile and every session straight away.
You must be 13 or over to register. We collect as little as we can, never show your email address to other users, and keep your grades and school private. If anything here is unclear, talk it through with a parent, carer or teacher before you sign up.
You can see what is held about you on the Revision and Account tabs, change it on the Account tab, and delete it there. Under UK data protection law you can also ask the site owner for a copy or a correction, and you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
